Snowmobiling is like a club, if you have knowledge of the sport you're in. It is a close group that stays together due to competition and comradary. They share the interest of snow, cold crisp air, speed, tricks and innovation. They need to ride, they want to ride. It's their need for adrenaline that the snowmobilers share. They value their skills. To be able to ride a snowmobile like a jetski is pretty impressive. Differences amongst the group include the types of riding involved. Some have a need for speed while others have a love to climb the hills.
I personally love to snowmobile and fit in with this community very well. I have rode since I was a kid and I love to hill climb. Don't care too much for the speed aspect, though it still is fun every once in a while. Tricks and showing off are always a fun part. The adrenaline pumping, and the powder flying is fantastic. Then everyone has a crash and has to talk about it. I have come across many snowmobilers and it is very easy to strike up a conversation. Such as the sleds they ride, where they ride, and everything in between. Snowmobiling is my community.
